Description	:	November 12, 1896, Bulletin Journal: "Thomas Davis died at his home in Rowley, at 11:30 Sunday night, October 31, of paralysis. Deceased was born in Sussex county, England, December 29, 1822, and had he lived until the 29th day of next month, would have been 74 years old. He came to America with his parents in 1841, landing at Quebec, and at once came to Albany, New York, and shortly after removing to and locating in Charlton township, Saratoga county, New York. Deceased was born in Sussex county, England, December 29, 1822, and had he lived until the 29th day of next month, would have been 74 years old. He came to America with his parents in 1841, landing at Quebec, and at once came to Albany, New York, and shortly after removing to and locating in Charlton township, Saratoga county, New York. He continued to reside there for 17 years, when he removed to Illinois, and two years later came to Buchanan county, settling in Homer township. In January, 1850, he was married to Miss Abigail J. Hayes, of Charlton, New York, and seven children were born to them, only two of whom are living. Mr. Davis became a member of the M.E. church under the preaching of Rev. Brown in 1867 and continued firm in that faith to the day of his death. He was also a life-long republican, and during his last illness often expressed the wish that he might live long enough to cast his vote for his party's candidate at the late election, and died with the assurance that Republican principles would once more shape the destiny of the land he loved so well. He was a man of sterling integrity, who in all relations of life measured to the full standard in all relations of life measured to the full standard of manhood and good citizenship.
