Description	:	Thomas Douglas Haney resident of Mt. Pisgah Community passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at 91 years of age. Thomas was born August 3, 1926, to Arrah and Claude Haney. Thomas was a member of the Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church and loved going to gospel singings with his special friends. Thomas served his country during World War II. Read More	Thomas Douglas Haney resident of Mt. Pisgah Community passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at 91 years of age. Thomas was born August 3, 1926, to Arrah and Claude Haney. Thomas was a member of the Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church and loved going to gospel singings with his special friends. Thomas served his country during World War II. He was inducted March 7, 1946, at Camp J.T. Robinson. His service ended April 20, 1947, at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He served the only way he could and that was as a cook. He was blinded in one eye as a small child. He received the World War II Victory Medal. On April 18, 1946, he qualified with MKM M-1 Rifle 30 Caliber. Survivors include his daughter Brenda Reynolds and husband Gene, son Darrell Haney and wife Richelle. Thomas had to work so many hours between his job and life raising food and providing for his family that upon his retirement he and his wife Martha took care of and helped raised his grandchildren and was always amazed by their sharp minds because Thomas never got to graduate from High School. Also surviving him is his Grandchildren Tracy Reynolds Nokes and husband Derrek, Lynda Haney Dickenson and husband David, Doug Reynolds and wife Melissa, and John Haney. Thomas always said he kept going because he loved watching his great-grandchildren whom are Matthew and Emma Nokes, Tyler, Pearce, Nathaniel, Isabella and Blakley Dickenson, and Lilly and Maddy Reynolds. Thomas is also survived by 2 sisters, Inez Holeyfield and Winnie Smith; 3 brothers Donald Irvin Haney, Claude Junior Haney and Kenneth Dale Haney. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Martha Marie Pearce Haney, his father and mother, brothers Charles Humphrey Haney and Herman Wesley Haney, along with sisters, Juanita Haney Baughn and Lola Jean Haney Childers. Visitation will be Monday, January 29th from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, January 30th at 10:00 A.M. also at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home with Interment following at Mt Pisgah Cemetery in Mt. Pisgah Community. Pallbearers are Doug Reynolds, John Haney, Derrek Nokes, David Dickenson, James Haney, and David Stracener. Honorary Pallbearers are Matthew Nokes and Tyler Dickenson, Officiating was Clayton Bulice. Reading of the Obituary was David Dickenson.
