Description	:	Funeral rites were to be held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock in Barnston, Neb., for Thomas Costello, sr., 82, father of John Costello, 611 North Fourth street, who died Tuesday evening at his home five miles northeast of Oketo. Cause of his death was attributed to an illness with which he became afflicted about a year ago. He had been seriously ill for the past four weeks. Cause of his death was attributed to an illness with which he became afflicted about a year ago. He had been seriously ill for the past four weeks. A native of Ireland he had been a resident of the Oketo community since 1882. He was born in Dunmore, Golway [Galway] county, March 17, 1852 and migrated to the United States when he was 17 years old. He later moved to Maringo, Iowa, before coming to Marshall county. The highly esteemed farmer was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Cooney February 2, 1875 at Iowa City, Ia. She died December 15, 1926. Surviving in addition to his son of this city are his sons, Thomas Costello, jr., Oketo; Frank Costello, Denver; his daughters, Stella, Anna and Mary Costello, all of the home; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Two children died in infancy. Mr. Costello was a farmer all his life with the exception of a short time of his life spent as a railway employee soon after he came to this country. Following the funeral rites burial was made in the Barnston Catholic cemetery.
