December 6, 1887, he united in marriage to Margaret Meikle of Oelwein and the young couple took up their residence here, and have since resided in the Oelwein city. Of this union were born five children, Leonard, Thomas, Bertha Mae, Gladys Pauline, Ivan Ross and Viola Fern. December 6, 1887, he united in marriage to Margaret Meikle of Oelwein and the young couple took up their residence here, and have since resided in the Oelwein city. Of this union were born five children, Leonard, Thomas, Bertha Mae, Gladys Pauline, Ivan Ross and Viola Fern. Two brothers and one sister, Frank Millhall, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Nancy Benham of Oelwein. Mr. Meskell of Tom as he was known to everyone in the city has been connected with the police force for about 16 years, serving faithfully and well liked by all with whom he came in contact in the carrying out of his duties. A member of the Presbyterian church, the Odd Fellows Lodge, Modern Woodmen of America and the Oelwein Fire department, he leaves many friends to join in sympathy with the bereaved family. Rev. C.W. Cleworth of Marshalltown preached the funeral sermon at the Presbyterian Church this afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
