Read More	Thomas Edward Poore died Saturday, October 27, 1979, at his home near Heartwell, where he had lived for 48 years. He was 73 years, 2 months, and 6 days of age. Thomas was born to Edward and Barbara Poore on August 21, 1906, on a farm near Norman, and attended school in that community. On February 24, 1931, Thomas was married to Margaret Smiley. They moved to a farm near Heartwell, where Margaret died on June 24, 1931. Thomas continued on the farm, and was married to Helen Gleason on May 6, 1936. To this union a son, Gordon, and a daughter, Gwen, were born. He is survived by his wife, Helen of Heartwell; son, Gordon, and his wife, Teresa, of Minden; a daughter, Gwen, and her husband Steve Nelson, of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Jewett of Omaha; three grandchildren; one nephew; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Esther and Frances, and his youngest brother, Donald. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 30th, at 2:30 p.m. at the Layton Funeral Home in Minden. Rev. Paul Johnson of Alma officiating. Interment was in the Heartwell Cemetery.
