He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Margaret Scoggins Holder. He was the son of the late William Ed Holder and Emily Earls Holder. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, William Albert Holder, James Edward Holder, Luther Henderson Holder and Billy Holder, his sisters, Alene Moore and Irene McAlister, half sister, Grace Cartwright, half brothers, Harrison Holder, Brown Holder and Lewis Kesley. He was an avid fishrman, a World War... Read More	Jim Rush Funeral Homes Thomas ‘Tom' Holder, 83, a resident of McDonald, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 14, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Margaret Scoggins Holder. He was the son of the late William Ed Holder and Emily Earls Holder. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, William Albert Holder, James Edward Holder, Luther Henderson Holder and Billy Holder, his sisters, Alene Moore and Irene McAlister, half sister, Grace Cartwright, half brothers, Harrison Holder, Brown Holder and Lewis Kesley. He was an avid fishrman, a World War II veteran serving in the United States Navy in the Pacific and was of the Church of God faith. He retired from Magic Chef after 33 years and received several safety awards. Survivors include: three sisters, Juanita Stevenson of Mooresboro, N.C., Josie Davis of McDonald, Frances Freeman of Guntersville, AL; several sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and several nieces and nephews also survive. A Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday at Jim Rush Funeral Homes, Wildwood Avenue Chapel with Reverend William Curtis and Reverend Norman Stallings officiating. Interment will follow in Earls Cemetery with Larry McAlister, Guy McAlister, Dennis Holder, Dustin Tinsley, Coy Dean Neeley and Doyle Parmer serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses from Cleveland Care and Rehabilitation and also Tom's nephews. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday at Jim Rush Funeral Homes, Wildwood Avenue Chapel who is in charge of the arrangements.
