"Thomas Gracey, aged about 22, and Stively Dickerhoof, aged 35, two Baltimore and Ohio trackmen working at Baird's Station just below Paw Paw, W. Va. late Saturday afternoon were instantly killed by lightning. Gracey resided at Paw Paw and Dickerhoof lived at Magnolia, where he had a wife and several children. Eye-witnesses say the men sank down as if under a weight. There were no exterior marks. One of Gracey's shoes was torn, the sole being loose and the strings cut as if by a knife." NOTE: The first article spells the other mans name Kigle Dickerhoff - the second article spells the name Stively Dickerhoof. I am not sure what the correct spelling is.
