Bernard Starman officiating. Burial will be in O’Neill Cemetery with military rites provided by the O’Neill American Legion Simonson Post 93. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill with a 7 pm Knights of Columbus Rosary. Tom passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.... Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill is in charge of arrangements. Thomas E. Langan was born on May 18, 1937 in Turner, Nebraska to William and Hazel (Rouse) Langan. He was the 10th of 14 children. He attended Country School near Eagle Creek through 8th grade. He graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1954. After graduation, he worked on the family ranch and also worked construction. On October 14, 1961, he married Joanne Lansworth at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill. To this union five children were born; Nancy, Bill, Jeff, Maria, and Julie. Tom was drafted into the Army in November 1961. The couple lived in Ft. Lewis, Washington while Tom was stationed there. He was honorably discharged in November 1963. They moved to the Lansworth farm north of O’Neill and later purchased some of the Langan Family Ranch. In 2005, Tom and Joanne moved to town due to health issues. Tom was a life-long member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and American Legion Simonson Post 93. He enjoyed playing cards, exploring his Irish heritage, his Angus cattle, and Farmall Tractors. Tom is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joanne Langan of O’Neill; four children, Bill Langan of O’Neill, Jeff (Kristi) Langan of O’Neill, Maria Langan of Lincoln, Julie (Bob) Regan of O’Neill; two grandsons, Kyle and Tyler Regan; three brothers, Mike (Veronica) Langan of O’Neill, Philip Langan of O’Neill, Terry (Karen) Langan of Omaha; three sisters, Joan Hafsaas of Omaha, Agnes Langan of Salem, Oregon, Lonnie Brown of Twin Falls, Idaho; many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Nancy in 1962; his mother and father-in-law, Harry and Marie Lansworth; siblings, Gerald Langan, Mary Johnson, Margaret Rossmeier, Jim Langan, Hugh Langan, Martin Langan, and Jack Langan.
