Kennedy, aged 74, pioneer resident of Lewis county and veteran member of the Masonic fraternity, passed away today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mattie Wilson, at Alpha. Kennedy, aged 74, pioneer resident of Lewis county and veteran member of the Masonic fraternity, passed away today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mattie Wilson, at Alpha. Death followed a stroke of paralysis. Mr. Kennedy was born in Louisville, Ky., December 25, 1858. He came to this county about 50 years ago. He joined Chehalis lodge, No. 28, F.& A.M., in 1884, and later became a charter member of Robert Morris lodge No. 97, at Silver Creek. He was master of that lodge in the early days, and the last 25 years had served as its secretary. The past year he was president of the Lewis County Past Masters association and presided over that organization's annual meeting at Pe Ell on May 27. He was also a member of the Eastern Star chapter at Silver Creek, and of the Judea White Shrine. In addition to Mrs. Wilson, Mr. Kennedy is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Nellie Fleming, of Ethel, and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Salkum and interment being in the Salkum cemetery under the auspices of the Silver Creek lodge.
