Tom was born on July 20, 1912, to Thomas Ario Moore and Martha Givens Moore Munz in Arvonia, Kan. He began working at a very young age in the coal mines in Missouri. Read More	Obituary from the Independent Record: Thomas Francis Moore, age 90, of Helena, passed away at St. Peter's Hospital on Saturday, June 28, 2003. Tom was born on July 20, 1912, to Thomas Ario Moore and Martha Givens Moore Munz in Arvonia, Kan. He began working at a very young age in the coal mines in Missouri. In 1929, Tom came to Montana to visit a step-uncle and remained in the Helena area. On May 27, 1936, he married his sweetheart from Kansas, Anna J. Atchison, in Oklahoma. Tom held several types of jobs in Helena and surrounding towns. During WWII and for a few years after the war, he was a mechanic at Fort Harrison. He was a construction worker during the building of the existing Canyon Ferry Dam but mostly worked as a carpenter for various contractors. He was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union, the Loyal Order of the Moose and Past Grand of the I.O.O.F. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and the Farmers Market. He considered life his best adventure and loved to travel and spend time with his family, especially the little ones. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Anna, a son Thomas Eugene Moore, sisters Mary Ellen Conley (March 2003), Thelma May Bass, Susie Wilson, Olive Holland, Betty Walker and Katherine Rose Phillips. Tom is survived by his son Roy Moore; daughters Juanita (Dale) Wyrick, Mary (Jim) Harrington, Arlene Thurston (Bill Giles), all of Helena; brother William Moore, of Security, Colo.; sister Arlean Wilhelms, of Golden City, Mo.; brother-in-law Ora Bass of Lamar, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held for Tom on Monday, July 7, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Salvation Army Church (1905 Henderson, Helena). A luncheon will be served following the service, with interment of the ashes at the I.O.O.F Cemetery following the luncheon. Memorials in Tom's name may be sent to the Salvation Army.
