Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Epworth, with the Rev. Dennis Cain officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Epworth, where military rites will be accorded by the Epworth American Legion John White Post 650. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Epworth, where there will be a wake service at 3 p.m. Friends also may call after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. He was born on Feb. 14, 1934, in Farley, son of Milton and Mary E. (Coyle) Hall. He was a graduate of Western Dubuque High School in Epworth. Thomas was an Army veteran, having served from 1956 to 1958, in West Berlin, with the 6th Infantry Regiment. He married Gayle Gloeckner on Sept. 3, 1960, at St. John's Catholic Church, Placid. Thomas was employed at Frank Conlon (which became Larson Tile) for 43 years. For 50 years, he was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers. He was a member of St. Patrick's Parish in Epworth,, Dyersville Golf and Country Club, for which he served as past president, and Timberline Golf Course in Peosta. Throughout his eight-year diagnosis with cancer, Tom would often say "You play with the hand you were dealt, and mine was Multiple Myeloma." Surviving are his wife, Gayle Hall, of Epworth; children, Gwen (Dennis) Hall-Driscoll, of Epworth, Annette (Mike Hodge) Hall, of Dubuque, and Dana (Dennis) Kramer, of Farley; four grandchildren, Alyssa (Hall) Madison, Austin Kramer, Katelyn Behnke and Carter Kramer; a sister, Judy (Ivan) Berger, of Epworth; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin and Augusta Gloeckner, Tom and Marion Gloeckner, Clarence and Joan Gloeckner and Allen Gloeckner. He was preceded in death by his parents; his father- and mother-in-law, Clarence and Edith Gloeckner; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Gloeckner.
