Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Lebanon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Altman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Lebanon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Altman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Haigler was born March 21, 1920 in Greenville, the son of the late Emmette and Olive Haigler. After only five months his family moved to Orangeburg which became their hometown for the balance of their lives. He served in the US Navy and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Haigler served aboard the USS Houston in the Pacific area. After his discharge, he was employed by the Charleston Navy Yard and served as an electrician, mechanical and electrical planner and estimator, and ordinance inspector from 1944 to 1954. He later served as project engineer at Palmetto Bakery, and construction superintendent, project manager and start-up and service manager for Applied Engineering Company from 1946-1965 and retired in 1965. After then moving his family to Summerton, he served as a member of Clarendon County Public Service Commission, and president of the Goat Island Water and Sewer Company. In 1997 he moved his family to the Twin Lakes subdivision near Neeses where he served as president of that association until his final retirement. He then transferred his membership from Summerton Presbyterian Church to the Lebanon United Methodist Church, Neeses, where he served as a member of the church's building committee. He was a Mason and lifetime member of Equality Lodge number 323. Mr. Haigler was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Lillie Mae Carter Haigler; and a brother, Emmette Earl Haigler. Survivors include two sons, Adrian Earl Haigler Sr. and wife, Sandra W., of Orangeburg and Thomas I. "Tommy" Haigler Jr. and wife, Debra C., of Neeses; two grandchildren, Thomas I. Haigler "Ty" and wife, Kasey Haigler, of Sandy Run and Adrian E. "Andy" and wife, Melody Haigler, of Florence; and two great-granddaughters, Megan and Taylor Haigler of Florence. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. At other times friends may call at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Adrian E. Haigler Sr., 1565 Sifly Road, Orangeburg or at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas I. Haigler Jr., 150 Twin Lakes Road, Neeses.
