Visitation will be held from 4-7 P.M. Monday, June 10, 2013, at the Fry Funeral in Tipton, with a rosary at 3:30 P.M. Thomas was born on April 25, 1939 in Mechanicsville, Iowa. He was the son of Edward "Ted" and Elsie (Hudachek) Walshire. He was a graduate of the Mechanicsville High School. He was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed collecting antique tractors and was an enthusiast of tractor pulling and thoroughbred race horses. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam era. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mechanicsville, and the American Legion. Thomas is survived by his brother, Everette Walshire of Mechanicsville; his sister, Louise (Edward) Poduska of Mechanicsville, several nephews, and by his special friend, Elaine Hoy and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lewis Walshire.
