Description	:	Thomas Walters PRATT - Thomas James Walters, 76, of Pratt, died Sept. 9, 2001, at his home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery at Cullison. Friends may call at Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary in Pratt from 5 to 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials have been established with the Parkinson's Association, the First Christian Church and the American Heart Association. Walters was born Aug. 28, 1925, in Cullison, to Flossie L. (Miller) and Horace R. Walters. During the Korean War, he was a sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was wounded in the Battle of Heartbreak Ridge for which he received the Purple Heart. On Feb. 3, 1952, he married Laurene Weese in Wichita. Walters retired from the U.S. Postal Service after more than 34 years of service. He was a member of the First Christian Church and Elks Lodge 1451. He also was part of the original Pratt Area Meals on Wheels. Survivors include his wife, Laurene Walters, Pratt; two sons, Tom Walters, Pratt, and Steve Walters, Winfield; a daughter, Bobbi Walters, Denver; and three grandchildren
