Description	:	The Belle Plaine union, Friday, January 8th, 1931 page 1 Thomas Kuba passed away Saturday at the home of his son Frank Kubu near Vining. He was born in Bohemia, December 21, 1836 and has reached the age of 94 years and 12 days. He served in the Bohemian army for twelve years. Mr. Kubu came to America and Iowa in 1867. Read More	The Belle Plaine union, Friday, January 8th, 1931 page 1 Thomas Kuba passed away Saturday at the home of his son Frank Kubu near Vining. He was born in Bohemia, December 21, 1836 and has reached the age of 94 years and 12 days. He served in the Bohemian army for twelve years. Mr. Kubu came to America and Iowa in 1867. He came to Iowa City then to Chelsea where he has lived since. He was married to Miss Mary Musel, who preceded him in death May 20, 1902. He is survived by five daughters Mrs. Frances Kovarik of Vining; Mrs. Rudolph Peska of Chelsea; Mrs. Mike Benedict of Irving. Mrs. John Peska of Belle Plaine; Mrs., C. W. Prusha of Chelsea., three sons John and Frank at home and James at Vining. Mr. Kubu's health had been failing for the last three months but was only confined to his be for about twenty four hours. The funeral was held from the home Monday morning at nine o'clock and from the St. Joseph church at Chelsea at ten o'clock. Rev. Father Panek had charge and interment was in the Chelsea cemetery. The pallbearers were six grandsons, Louis Kovarik, Emil Prusha, James Benedict, Frank Peska, Charles Peska and Leonard Kubu.
