A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, at Divine Mercy Parish, St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Schuyler with the Rev. Carl Zoucha as celebrant. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday with a 7 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary at Kracl Funeral Chapel in Schuyler. Visitation will continue from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Tom was born Nov. 18, 1927, at Columbus to Leon and Johanna (Guynan) Kluck. He graduated from Schuyler High School in May 1945. Tom served in the United States Coast Guard from June 1945 to May 1947. He was stationed at Fort Point near Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge in California. On Dec. 27, 1950, he was united in marriage to Arlene Wacha. They farmed northeast of Schuyler from 1948 to 2008. Tom served as secretary of the rural fire district board for 45 years. He was a member Divine Mercy Parish, St. Augustine's Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a licensed pilot for 14 years. He loved to watch war movies, enjoyed welding and working with livestock and flying. He also enjoyed building model airplanes. Tom also enjoyed talking to his dogs and cats. He is survived by his wife, Arlene of Schuyler; son, Thomas R. Kluck of Rogers; brother, Robert (Joan) Kluck Sr.; nephews, Patrick Kluck of Schuyler and Robert Kluck Jr. of Richland; and niece, Kelli Diermann of Columbus. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and son, James R. Kluck on June 22, 2007. Tom was never the same following his son's death. Memorials may be directed to the Colfax County Senior Center or St. Augustine’s Catholic Church.
