Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church with burial at the Hall cemetery in Sequatchie Valley. The deceased was born in the Hales Chapel neighborhood and lived in this county all his life, except for a few years in Missouri. He married Sarah Caroline Hall October 27, 1879; she died in 1931. They had 8 children. After the death of his wife, Tom maintained his home with the help of his daughter, Miss Stella Hale. Later he gave up his home and lived with his children, chiefly his son T V Hale. Mr Hale served for a number of years as a member of the county court and was always keenly interested in county affairs. He was an elder in his church for 20 years. He was a man of sound judgment. He is survived by the following children: T V, Biglick, Mrs Will Brown, Crossville; Mrs Stella Hassler and Mrs Jewell Hale, Biglick.
