Description	:	Mr. Thomas W. LaRoche, age 80, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Monday, May 16, 2022. The son of the late Thomas J. and Gertrude Cecelia (Etzler) LaRoche, he was born on July 18, 1941 in Bay City and was baptized at the former St. Joseph Catholic Church. At the age of 16, Tom left school and went to work to support his mother. He became a tool and die maker at Autolite and then worked at Prestolite until 1990. The son of the late Thomas J. and Gertrude Cecelia (Etzler) LaRoche, he was born on July 18, 1941 in Bay City and was baptized at the former St. Joseph Catholic Church. At the age of 16, Tom left school and went to work to support his mother. He became a tool and die maker at Autolite and then worked at Prestolite until 1990. Tom went on to work at Kay Automotive Graphics in Lake Orion and then retired from Masco Corp. in Royal Oak. In his spare time Tom enjoyed bowling, hunting, watching western movies, building model planes and boats, refurbishing antiques, and traveling. On his travels he especially liked trying new restaurants daily. A member of the NRA, Tom was an avid gun collector and spent many hours target practicing. On June 28, 1960 he was united in marriage to Georgeann Kay Jablonski, and she preceded him in death on March 5, 1997. Tom then married the former Diane Kay Bailey and she preceded him in death on April 20, 2021. Tom was also preceded in death by his son, Thomas Edward LaRoche; a granddaughter, Breanne Lyn Story; a son-in-law, Thomas Brown; his sister, Dolores Weeks; a sister-in-law, Nita Peterson; and a brother-in-law, Edwin Jablonski. Private interment will be at Floral Gardens Cemetery.
