He was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by his wife, Wilma Towey, his parents Thomas J. and Mary Mae (Dugan) Towey and sisters, Genevieve Coyle and Lucille Svengard; brothers, Francis and Paul Towey. Tom was born April 4, 1921, at the family farm near Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. Thomas was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Primrose, Nebraska. He attended school at District 28 near Timber Creek, Nebraska. On October 1, 1945, Thomas was united in marriage to Wilma Haschke at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. The couple lived and farmed west of Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. Tom also did some trucking and measured land for the ASCS Office. In 1967, Tom moved to Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. He continued to commute to the farm daily and farmed with his son John until retiring in 1983. After retirement, he worked for friend Jerry Nebel and other friends and neighbors. Tom was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. He also served on the Co-op Board. Survivors of the immediate family include daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Gayland Kolm and Rosemary and Paul Beister, all of Cedar Rapids, Nebraska; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Shelia Towey of Cedar Rapids, Nebraska ; and a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Philamae Towey of Cedar Rapids, Nebraska.
