Description	:	Thomas Macy Stephens, son of George Meek and Lucinda Ellen Stephens was born in Hamilton Township, Decatur County, Iowa on October 10, 1892, and departed this life on December 12, 1934 at the Decatur County Hospital at Leon, Iowa where he was taken for treatment December 11, for treatment for ulcers of the stomach of which he suffered at times for the last fourteen years. His siblings were; Sadie Belvel Jones, Ira Leo, George William Reeves, Charles Otto, Flossie Ann and Edgar Niles. He was united in marriage to Daisy Meryman the daughter of Ezekiel and Nancy Housh Meryman on November 8, 1911. On December 29, 1916 he was united in marriage to Wilma Mary Downey, the daughter of Samuel Craig and Nancy Catherine Piercy Downey. To this union eight children were born: Lelah, Leo, Charles, Jim, Lois, Helen, Wayne, and Fred. Macy was a friend in need, always ready to lend a helping hand, The day before he was taken to the hospital, he left a sick bed to help a neighbor in trouble. Funeral services were held at Bethel church on Saturday December 15, at 2 o'clock conducted by W. H. Hamilton. Interment was made in the Bethel Cemetery.
