Description	:	Thomas Mareska, 87, of Waterloo, died Sunday, January 15, at Covenant Medical Center. He was born July 15, 1929, in Reinbeck, the son of Frank and Alba Kubik Mareska. He married Bonita Bauler on June 30, 1953, in Eagle Center. Thomas served in the United States Army during the Korean War and farmed in the area for many years. Survivors include: his wife, Bonita of Waterloo; three daughters, Elaine (Pearl) Billington, June (Tom) Billington, and Vernita (Greg) Hartman all of Waterloo; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren with one on the way; a sister, Irene (Ervin) Hanus of Traer. Preceded in death by: his parents. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 19, at St. Mary’s of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery, both in Eagle Center. Full military rites will be conducted by the Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and Evansdale Amvets Post 31, assisted by the Iowa Army Honor Guard. Public visitation from 4-8 pm Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, Waterloo, where there will be a 4 pm rosary and 7 pm vigil service.
