Description	:	OBITUARY from a Ponca, NE newspaper "Thomas McClary was born in Washington County, Maryland, August 13, 1833. His parents moved from there to Carrol County, Illinois where he grew to manhood. He was married to Susan Fouch in 1854 and moved with his family to Marshall County, Iowa in 1862 and from there to Ponca, Dixon County, Neb the fall of 1870. Thye next spring he settled upon a piece of government land which is still known as the "old McClary homestead." He has ever since been a resident of Dixon County. After a short illness of only four... Read More	OBITUARY from a Ponca, NE newspaper "Thomas McClary was born in Washington County, Maryland, August 13, 1833. His parents moved from there to Carrol County, Illinois where he grew to manhood. He was married to Susan Fouch in 1854 and moved with his family to Marshall County, Iowa in 1862 and from there to Ponca, Dixon County, Neb the fall of 1870. Thye next spring he settled upon a piece of government land which is still known as the "old McClary homestead." He has ever since been a resident of Dixon County. After a short illness of only four days, during which time he was so affectionally cared for in the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Campbell, he passed beyond the reach of all human aid at sunrise Sunday morning, November 7, 1909. He leaves to mourn his loss, five sons and two daughters with their families, together with a host of friends and neighbors who have learned to love him as a father. Perhaps no one feels their loss so keenly as those that have learned to call him grandfather. The remains were laid at rest in the Silver Ridge Cemetery Tuesday, November 9, 1909." Thomas married Susan Fouch on December 23, 1854 in Oregon, Illinois and had nine children.
