Description	:	Thomas Michael Chitwood was born in Des Moines, Iowa, August 12, 1956. He lived most of his life in the central Iowa area. Thomas went to Runnells Elementary and graduated from Southeast Polk High in 1974. In his younger years he was an athlete and participated in football, tennis and track. He had a great talent in music. He played in the Concert Band, Swing Band and doing many cold nights marching at football games (Friday nights) in the Marching Band. Thomas (went by Tom) worked in the Des Moines area for many in the Printing Businesses, running all types... Read More	Thomas Michael Chitwood was born in Des Moines, Iowa, August 12, 1956. He lived most of his life in the central Iowa area. Thomas went to Runnells Elementary and graduated from Southeast Polk High in 1974. In his younger years he was an athlete and participated in football, tennis and track. He had a great talent in music. He played in the Concert Band, Swing Band and doing many cold nights marching at football games (Friday nights) in the Marching Band. Thomas (went by Tom) worked in the Des Moines area for many in the Printing Businesses, running all types of Printing Machines and doing all types of jobs, with his technical knowledge. He fixed many problems for his employers. He wanted to continue working but his health wouldn't allow it. He retired 2 years ago. Thomas passed away at the Kavanagh House Hospice on Monday February 1, 2016. As Thomas requested we are not having a service. He was cremated, burial will be in Lowman's Cemetery in Runnells, Iowa at a later date. He is preceded in death by his father Thomas O. Chitwood, grandparents and other family members. He is survived by his mother(Ruth), brother (Charles), sister in law (Tammi) and nephews (Ian and Adam). Thomas will be missed!
