Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 30, at Providence United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Henry was born in Live Oak, Fla., a son of the late Thomas M. Henry and Sara Elizabeth Bozeman Henry. He was a graduate of Suwannee High School, received a BS degree from the University of South Carolina and a M.S. degree from the University of Kentucky. He was an Army veteran of World War II in the European Theater. He was retired as controller of Winthrop College, a former member of the Board of Directors of SC State Employees Association, and a former member of the Board of Directors of the S.C. Credit Union. Mr. Henry was a former steward of St. John's United Methodist Church in Rock Hill, a current member of Providence United Methodist Church, and on the Administrative Board and Board of Trustees. He helped organize and served on the board of directors of the Holly Hill Community Rescue Squad, and served as District Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of York County. He was a member of the Vance Masonic Lodge No. 230, the Scottish Rite, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the sons of Confederate Veterans. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Dantzler Henry; and a son, Connor M. Henry. Surviving are daughters, Doris H. "Dee Dee" H. Kullenberg, of Holly Hill and Ann H. Clemmer, of Maine and D.R. Congo; a son, Edward Dantzler Henry, of Hickory, NC; a sister, Reba H. Watts of Deltona, Fla.; a brother, Cecil Eugene Henry of Bradenton, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
