Description	:	Thomas was an immigrant from Quebec Canada, he arrived in Stratford, New Hampshire in 1842 at the age of 17 years. He removed to Greenwood, Oxford, Maine about 1850. According to his naturalization paper of 1856 he was born in Quebec City, Canada in Oct 1825. He was officially naturalized on 19 Aug 1856, his certificate number is 2-133. The Oath was witnessed and signed by his grandfather-in-law Francis Bennett Jr. and his wife Abigail (Bennett) Moore. Most likely the process was aided by his Grandfather-in-law Francis Bennet Jr of Greenwood, who was an active State Representative of Maine... Most likely the process was aided by his Grandfather-in-law Francis Bennet Jr of Greenwood, who was an active State Representative of Maine from 1854-56. The Ceremony was at the first US District Court in Portland, Cumberland County, Maine. He signed up for the Civil War draft in July 1861. It appears he was not called to service. Thomas death record does not give the cause of his death in 1874. However, it is clear he wanted a better life for himself and his children by coming to USA like so many others. Abigail and Thomas married in 1852 in Greenwood, Oxford, Maine. They had four children per their 1860 census; William, Charles, Thomas and Abigail. Abigail was buried beside her husband in Oct 1895.
