Description	:	Thomas M. Rochford died on February 11, 2011. He was in banking for 40 years, serving first as Second Vice President at Northern Trust in Chicago. Subsequently, he became President of the Bank of Illinois in Champaign, IL. After retirement, he was asked to move to Gainesville, FL and became President of the Gainesville State Bank Holding Company, serving Gainesville State Bank and Keystone Heights State Bank (now known as Compass Bank). Rochford died on February 11, 2011. He was in banking for 40 years, serving first as Second Vice President at Northern Trust in Chicago. Subsequently, he became President of the Bank of Illinois in Champaign, IL. After retirement, he was asked to move to Gainesville, FL and became President of the Gainesville State Bank Holding Company, serving Gainesville State Bank and Keystone Heights State Bank (now known as Compass Bank). Tom was a member of the Gainesville Country Club and Gator Boosters. Included among his many memberships were a number of athletic booster clubs including the Quarterback Club and Tip-Off Club. He was a member of the Building Committee for Queen of Peace Parish and served on the Queen of Peace Finance Committee as well as the St. Francis High School Finance Committee and the Saint Augustine Diocesan Foundation Committee in Jacksonville. He has written extensively for banking and agricultural journals. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in agricultural economics from Iowa State University and was elected to Phi Kappa Phi and Gamma Sigma Delta honorary societies and graduated from the Harvard and Wisconsin Schools of Banking. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he honorably served in the Naval Air Force. He was president of the Tip-Off and Gator Booster Clubs for the University of Florida Gator Basketball. He was an officer in the Illinois State Bankers Association serving as Treasurer and a long time member of the Board of Directors and also served on the Board of the National Independent Bankers Association, a trade association located in Washington, DC. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne, and four children, Tom (Sharon) Rochford of Traverse City, MI, Steve (Freda) Rochford of Torrance, CA, Becky (Steve) Jaeb of Wake Forest, NC and Michael (Shelli) Rochford of Austin, TX; 13 grandchildren: Ashley, Matt, Adam, Tyler, Samantha, Nicole, Carter and Evan Rochford, Brandon and Kelsey Jaeb and Max, Amber and Laura Janis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ella, and daughter-in-law, Marilyn Rochford. He will be cremated and interred in the Queen of Peace Collumbarium.
