Description	:	Spanish-American War Vet Dies In Ambulance Thomas Mungoven, 85, one of two remaining veterans of the Spanish-American War living in Ottumwa, died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in an ambulance while en route to the Veterans Hospital at Des Moines. He was born in Ottumwa Feb. 16, 1876, and lived here approximately 50 years. He was a member of Co. G in the Spanish-American War. He was married to Elizabeth McKillop, March 2, 1908, in old St. Mary's Church. He has been a member of St. Patrick's Church here for many years. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Thomas James Mungoven, Peoria, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Eisele, Woodland Hills, Calif.; two brothers, William J. (Jim) Mungoven, Ottumwa, and Daniel J Mungoven, Fremont; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Vaughan Funeral Home and at 9 o'clock at St. Patrick's Church with Rev. J. J. Collins, pastor, celebrating a Requiem High Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Members of the church, friends and neighbors will meet at 8 p.m. Friday at the Vaughan home to recite the Rosary.
