He was born Oct. 16, 1924, in Georgetown County, a son of John Oscar Morris and Chettie Mairee Pinner Morris. He was the widower of Hazeline Barrineau Morris. Read More	ANDREWS - Thomas Octavus Morris Sr., 74, of South Morgan Avenue, died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 16, 1924, in Georgetown County, a son of John Oscar Morris and Chettie Mairee Pinner Morris. He was the widower of Hazeline Barrineau Morris. He attended Georgetown County schools until he was drafted in 1943 by the Army. He served as an anti-aircraft artillery staff sergeant during World War II. Mr. Morris was a member of Andrews American Legion Post 69; past master of Harper Masonic Lodge No. 225 of Andrews; the Omar Shrine Temple of Charleston; was the founder, charter member and first director of Andrews Omar Volunteers; the past president of the G and W Shrine Club of Georgetown; the past director of the Omar Jokers of Kingstree; a member of the Royal Order of Jesters. He was owner and operator of the Andrews Piggly Wiggly, retiring in 1992. He was co-owner of Hometown Finance. He was a former member of Andrews Town Council; served as the Andrews town recorder; was an auxiliary police officer; and a member of First Baptist Church of Andrews. Survivors include three sons, Thomas Octavus Morris Jr., Michael Darwin Morris and Kirk Duane Morris, all of Andrews; two brothers, John Elwyn Morris Sr. and Lloyd C. Morris Sr., both of Andrews; four sisters, Dorothy M. Davidson of Jacksonville, Fla., Mary Honor M. Pierce of Columbia, and Wanda M. Cox and Miriam M. Thompson, both of Andrews; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be at 7 tonight at the Andrews chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. The Rev. Billy Rufus, the Rev. Billy Cooper and the Rev. Paul Miles will officiate. The funeral with military recognition will be at 4 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Andrews. Burial with Masonic rites will be at Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
