BOYCE was born at Albany, New York, the 9th day of December, 1851, and died near Decatur City, Iowa, January 7, 1911, aged 59 years and 29 days He moved with his parents from New York and settled near Sandusky, Ohio, in the spring of 1854, from there he moved with his parents to Iowa, they settling near Garden Grove in the year 1869, here Mr. BOYCE grew to manhood and lived in Decatur County until the time of his death. He was married to MARY LINDA PERDEW, of Leon, Iowa, August 6, 1877. To this union were born eleven children, four of whom died in infancy, also a son, FREDERICK G. BOYCE, died at the age of eighteen years. Six children, four daughters, Mrs HALLIE M. HARSH, of Decatur City, Iowa, Mrs. ELSIE L. HENSLEY, of Willola, Idaho, S. MYRTLE BOYCE and MARY A. BOYCE, near Decatur, Iowa, two sons, NATHAN A. and ORVILLE C. BOYCE, of near Decatur, Iowa are left with their mother and three brothers and three sisters of Mr. BOYCE, besides a host of other relatives and friends to mourn the loss of a kind father and sympathetic friend. He joined the M.E. Church in 1880, at middle age, and died trusting in the Lord. He has been a member of the Masonic Lodge since July 2, 1874, joined the I.O.O.F. In 1895. Mr. BOYCE was a man of a cheerful disposition, a goodneighbor and a loyal citizen. The funeral services were held at the M.E. Church Tuesday, January 10 at 12 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Jasper Weber, after which the Masons took charge of the services and buried Brother BOYCE at the Metier Cemetery. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.
