The body will be at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, Md., Sunday evening. Because of the 40 Hours devotion at St. Peter's Church, the funeral Mass will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption in Keyser. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Westernport. Born in Piedmont, Mr. Murphy learned the machinist's trade in the old B. & O. shops here and worked here and in Keyser until 1935,... Besides his widow, Mrs. Bridget (Cuff) Murphy, he leaves eight children, Paul Murphy, Cumberland; Mary and John Murphy and Mrs. Bernadette Schacheck, of Philadelphia; Edward Murphy, Westernport; William Murphy, Piedmont, Mrs. Loretto Johnson and Mrs. Clara Linthicum, of Keyser; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren." "The Herald" (Piedmont, W.Va.), Thursday 19 September 1957: "Solemn Requiem High Mass for Thomas P. Murphy, 87, former resident of here who died last Wednesday in Philadelphia, was celebrated Monday morning in the Church of the Assumption, Keyser. The Rev. Linus E. Robinson, pastor of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, was celebrant of the Mass. The deacon was Rev. George J. Pugh of Westernport, and subdeacon was Rev. Joseph Hirsch, pastor of the Keyser church. Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery, Westernport. Honorary pallbearers were John McGreevy, Patsy DiBuono, Frank Mayolo, William Kady, Ambrose Snively, John Hughes and Francis Cosgrove. Active pallbearers were Martin and Paul Cuff of Cresaptown; Raymond Beckner, Arone DiUbaldo, Francis Carey and George Fisher."
