Thomas Ray Mabry, 78, of Albemarle, N.C., died at 12:55 a.m. Monday, February 10, 2014, in Carolinas Medical Center-Main, Charlotte, N.C. His funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, Albemarle, N.C. The Rev. Frank Thompson officiated and burial was in Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle, N.C. The family received friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 12-2 p.m. prior to the hour of the service. Born April 6, 1935, in Wadesboro, N.C., he was the son of the late James Fred Mabry and Rosa Hinson Mabry. He was a retired employe of Collins & Aikman Corporation. He was a member of God's Church, Badin, N.C. and a former member of First Street United Methodist Church, Albemarle, N.C. Mr. Mabry was first married to the late Carolyn Efird Mabry who preceded him in death. One brother, Arthur Mabry and one sister, Ferol Maness, also preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Hatley Mabry of the home; one daughter, Aza Mabry Hudson and husband Kevin of Albemarle, N.C.; three brothers, Vaughn Mabry, Kent Mabry and Lee Mabry, all of Norwood, N.C.; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Eben, Elaine and Elithe Hudson, all of Albemarle, N.C. Also surviving are three stepsons, Gary Hatley, Dickie Biggers and Craig Hatley, all of Albemarle, N.C.; and one stepdaughter, Shirley Lefler of Concord, N.C. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Music Fund, 202 N. Second St., Albemarle, NC 28001 or God's Church Benevolence Fund, PO Box 1571, Badin, NC 28009.
