Marshall was born at Straight Creek, near Holton, Kansas, September 22, 1873. He died October 13, 1937, at St. Joseph’s hospital , Kansas City, Mo. He was united in wedlock at Larkinburg, Kansas, February 14, 1900, to Agnes Bagley. To this union were born nine childrenL Mrs. Theo. Nift, Shooks, Minn.; Mrs. Ben Sanderson, Mayetta, Kansas; Mrs Vera Hudson,Mrs. George Wamego, Mayetta, Kansas; Mrs. Harry Robinson, Mayetta, Kansas; Thomas, Charley, Helen, and Richard of the home address. His early life was spent in and near Straight Creek, until his marriage, when he moved near Denison, Kansas, a few years later moving near Mayetta where he resided until April 1926, when he moved to Mayetta where he lived until his death. Besides his wife and nine children, he leaves an aged mother, 94 years of age; three sisters; two brothers; ten grandchildren, and many friends, to mourn his departure, but ’tis only: “Farewell, dear father and husband, We know you are now at rest; We can only bow our heads and say ‘God’s will be done, He knows best’.” The Holton Recorder ~ October 21, 1937 Thomas Marshall, Mayetta, died in the St. Joseph Hospital, Kansas City, on Wednesday morning. The body was brought to the Gabel & Porterfield Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning from the Catholic church in Mayetta. Interment in the Mt. Calvary cemetery.
