His death followed an illness of several weeks. Funeral services will be held from the Methodist Episcopal church of Masonville, Thursday afternoon, January 9, at 2 o'clock. Rev. D. C. Read More	Ex-Supervison Rose Dies At Home Of Son Near Masonville Thomas Rose, a resident of Delaware county since 1861, passed away at the home of his son, Mr. John Rose, two miles north of Masonville, Monday, January 6, 1913. His death followed an illness of several weeks. Funeral services will be held from the Methodist Episcopal church of Masonville, Thursday afternoon, January 9, at 2 o'clock. Rev. D. C. Perry officiating. Interment will be made in Greenwood cemetery near Masonville. Deceased was born in London, England, January 19, 1836, and came to America when a young man. At Monroe, Wisconsin, he was united in marriage with Miss Lucy Ford. To this union three children were born, two sons and one daughter - Leonard, and Euretta, who preceded their father in death, and John Rose, at whose home he had been tenderly cared for during his declining years, and where his death occurred last evening. On October 6, 1861, Mr. Rose located on a farm near Masonville, retaining his residence until the time of his death. Mr. Rose is survived by his son, John Rose, of Coffin's Grove township; two sisters, Mrs. J. F. McCormick and Mrs. Esther Williams of this city; and two brothers, who reside at Buffalo, New York. Coming to Delaware county in an early day, Mr. Rose took an active part in the political and civic affairs of the county. For six years Mr. Rose served as a member of the board of supervisors of this county. It was while he was chairman of the board that the question of erecting a new court house occupied the attention of the tax payers of Delaware county. Mr. Rose was a man of exceptional business ability. His judgment in matters pertaining to the expenditure of the county funds while he was a member of the board was never questioned. He was a man of the highest integrity and merited the respect and confidence of all who knew him. The community deeply mourns the death of this true and stalwart pioneer.
