Taylor, 21, born in Henry County, married on Feb. 24, 1864. Thomas son of Solomon & Betsy (Elizabeth) Stephens. Susan daughter of Robert & Martha Taylor. Married at Robert Buchannon on Sugar Run. Giles County Marriages, Nov. 10, 1892 Thomas Stephens 54, married Darthule Jane Thompson 30, daughter of Jas. & A Thompson. Thomas also was a soldier in the Confederate Army. In the 1870 census of Giles County Va. it shows Thomas Stephens age 32, Susan age 26, and daughter Ellen age 5. In the 1880 Giles County Va. Thomas age 41, Susan 31, Etta B. age 17. Zackarius M. Price 29, son of George & Mary Price, married E. B. Stephens 19, daughter of Thomas & S. J. Stephens on June 5, 1884. In Giles County Va. Thomas and Susan J. Stephens are in the Stinson Cem. Giles County Va. ********************************************************* Will of Thomas Stephens Giles County Va. Know all man by these present, that I Thomas Stephens do make this my last Will and Testament as follows. First, I give device and bequeath to my beloved wife Darthule Jane my dwelling house farm and farming utensils, also all stock on farm at my death, and one hundred and fifty dollars in money, and the Organ, to have and to the same and the benefits and profits arising there from as long as she remains my widow. 2nd-- If the said Darthule Jane remains my widow till her death, all of just debt and funeral expenses is to be paid out of estate but Darthule Jane is to pay all the taxes on the farm and household property as long as it remains in her possession, but in case she marries again, the farm is to be divided as follows; between my beloved wife Darthule Jane and Tiny Alreada Price my grand daughter. Commencing at a spruce pine tree on a cliff near the end of the meadow fence and on the upper side of said meadow on north side of my farm and Running with said meadow fence at where it now stands to the line and up the fence near the head of the line, thence with the cross fence to the line between me and E. C. Wiley and down the same to a walnut and hickory trees on corner on said Wiley line following the fence to the white oak corner on a cliff, thence following my line an east side of said farm to the beginning including all the buildings to my beloved wife shall also have the privilege of getting the Necessary fire wood and rails timber off of the bound any fences in on the ridge, and most convent way to haul it through that place on to hers. The remainder of the farm west of said division go to my grand daughter Tiny Alreada Price. 3rd-- In case my beloved wife remains my widow until her death, then the entire estate to go to my grand daughter Tiny Alreada Price or heirs. But in the event that my grand daughter gets my estate then she is to pay to my grand son Graton Covington Price the sum of two hundred dollars at the death of my wife. If Tiny Price should die, her heirs shall pay to Graton Covington Price the two hundred dollars as stated above. 4th-- I also give Tiny Alreada Price and Graton Covington Price the sum of one hundred each in money which is to be paid at my death. If the one hundred dollars con not be paid to Graton Covington Price within two years time of my death, this amount is to be equally divided between my nephews Willie Brockman, ( Brookman ) and Steward Brookman. 5th--Nickatee Thompson my wife's sister who is staying with us as one of the family is to have her support as long as she remains single, and remains with my beloved wife Darthule Jane. 6th-- The bridal expenses are to be paid, and tombstones put to both of our graves within two months after our deaths. If there should be any personal property left at the death of my beloved wife I want the following disposal made of it. My wife to make disposal as she desires. Witnesses Jas. D.
