McNeace, 77, of Beechwood Street, Belvedere,who died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 from the Morningside Baptist Church in Union with the Rev. Harold Wilson and the Rev. Heyward Horton officiating. Interment will be in Union Memorial Gardens with full military honor. Mr. McNeace was a native of Union, having made Belvedere his home for the past 30 years. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and retired from the Excelsior Woolen Mill. Mr. McNeace was a native of Union, having made Belvedere his home for the past 30 years. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and retired from the Excelsior Woolen Mill. A World War II veteran, Mr. McNeace was a former member of the U.S. Navy Reserve and a retried Sgt. First Class from the U.S. Army National Guard with 26 years of service. He was the former president of the NCO Club of Union. Survivors include his wife Peggy E. McNeace; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sybil and Steve Moss, Middleburg, Fla., Sandra and Willie Hughes, Aynor, Linda and Marvin Hyatt, Morganton, N.C., and Marsha and Danny Webster, Jackson; a brother, Albert B. McNeace of Union; a sister, Willie Poole of Union; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Steve Moss Jr., Sean Moss, Kevin Switzer Carroway, Travis Lane Hyatt, John Hugh Webster II and Jessie Tipton. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to VA Medical Center, #1 Freedom Way, Attn. Volunteer Services, (119-U) Augusta, Ga., 30904-6285. Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home of North Augusta in charge of arrangements.
