"Tommy" Moles, 71, of Oak Grove passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016 at home. Tommy was the Farm Manager, Gardens and Grounds Manager at Stratford Hall Plantation for 35 years. He was a hard working farmer who cared for the animals as though they were his own, as well as harvesting hay and crops. Mr. Moles is survived by his wife of 31 years, Bonnie M. moles; son, Troy "Tony" A. Moles; daughter, Tammy M. Jenkins (Curtis); stepson, Mike Cushman (Kathleen); stepdaughter, Kelly Elmore (David); mother, Virginia M. Purks; grandchildren, Julie Baer, Toni Marie Moles, Hunter and Marcus Cushman; two great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Thomas Baer; sisters, Robin Bowler (George) and Joy DeBernard (Chuckie). The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 18 at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 19 at Potomac Baptist Church, King George with the Rev. Dennis Newton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. We'd like to give special thanks to the VCU Massey Cancer Center, Dr. Mark Malkin, Dana Blake and Alison Ryan, and to Riverside Tappahannock Hospice, Edna and Shannon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the VCU Massey Cancer Center, Box 843042, Richmond, VA 23284 or Riverside Tappahannock Hospice, 289 Hospital Road, Tappahannock, VA 22560.
