He, his brothers, and the boarder were all working as farmers. He and his wife could both read, write, and speak English, however, his mother could only speak Norwegian and did not read or write. He rented the property, it was a farm. 1910 Census shows his name as Thomas Halverson and he was 53. It indicates he was living in Cedar County, NE, on a farm. He was a farmer and it indicates he was employed. He rented the farm. Living next door was his brother Gilbert and his family. Died after suffering from pneumonia in 17 Dec1915 at the age of 57. --------------------------- Obituary: Tom Halverson died at his home Friday, December 17, 1915, after a three days' illness of pneumonia, aged 58 years, six months,and 10 days. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and six children, a mother, two sisters, and four brothers. The funeral was held from the Baptist church atLime Grove, Reverend Anderson officiating. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community. A dear one from us is taken. A voice we loved isstill. A chair is vacant in our home Which never can be filled. Card of thanks: We, the undersigned, wish to express our heartfelt gratitude for the kindness of friends and neighbors during the past illness and at the time of the death of our beloved husband and father.
