Description	:	Thomas Weaver Baker was father to four children: Edward M. Baker, Charles Wilson Baker, Phebe L. Baker, and Henry Clay Baker. Thomas Weaver Baker would have been my gr-gr-gr-Grandfather. (My Baker line comes down thru Edward M. Baker.) He married Ann Wing (daughter of Wilson and Keziah (Tibbetts) Wing) in 1830 in Westport. Ann Wing is descended from George Soule of the Mayflower Pilgrims, thru her mother's maternal lineages. (For as long as it's available on-line, you can view their interesting article at: http://www.westporthistory.com/news/archives/000485.html) Thomas Weaver Baker was the son of Charles and Sarah (Weaver) Baker of Westport, MA. During the years, 1846-1847, I can find mention in the Westport Historical Archives that he was listed as part of the town's militia. In the census records, it is shown that Thomas' occupation was as a "tanner". I believe that I have also discovered that Thomas' maternal grandfather, Thomas WEAVER/WEVER was a Revolutionary War Patriot, who was KIA in 1778 in the Continental Navy as a 2nd Lieutenant.... further research is needed, tho. I have to say that seeing their gravesites in Linden Grove Cemetery in Westport, MA, "REALLY" jump-started my genealogical research -- The family connection was deeply felt when I was there. Mom would have been surprised, for sure.
