Bath Pittsburg Funeral Director, Dies Pittsburg, Kan. ~`~ Thomas William Bath, 81, 510 S. Broadway, director of the Bath Funeral Home, died yesterday evening, after suffering an apparent heart attack at his Hobby Ranch, west of Pittsburg. Mr. Bath was born Jan 21, 1897, in Sherwin and moved to Pittsburg in 1925 from Mulberry. He married Nobie L. Wright on Jan. 21, 1920, in Webb City, Mo. She was killed in a car accident on Feb. 22, 1977. Bath was owner and president of the' Bath Funeral Home until his retirement in 1977. Before 1945, he was manager and salesman of Fadlers & Thomas Fruit Co. For 25 years, Bath was pastor of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He held the offices of Elder and High Priest in the church. Bath was a member of the Mirza Shrine, Fort Scott Consistory, Blue Blue Lodge, No. 187, Royal Arch No. 581, Mirza Legion of Honor, Montjoie Commandery No. 29, Rose Croix White Shrine of Jerusalem No. 16, Rob Morris Chapter No. 74, Order of Eastern Star, AARP and the American Legion. He also was a 50-year member of United Commerical Travelers and was a past president of the Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Club. Bath served for 20 years on the Board of Education. He also was a board member of the Salvation Army and the Nursing Home Board. Survivors include three sons, Thomas William Bath, and Bobbie W. Bath, both of Pittsburg; one daughter, Velma D. Wehmeyer, Pittsburg; one brother, Carl Bath, Clinton, Mo.; one sister, Clara French, Scammon; one step-brother, Cicil Dibble, Pittsburg; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 601 So. Walnut. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Bath Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of the Bath Funeral Home. ~`~
