Description	:	Thomas W. Cherry, 74, veteran Muscatine shoe merchant, died at 10:55 a.m. today at his home, 113 West Sixth street. Mr. Cherry had been in poor health for several years. He suffered a heart attack recently. He was born on Dec 26, 1860, in the province of Ulster, Ireland, the son of Thomas and Eliza Cherry. He came to Muscatine in 1882 and first worked at the Stewart Shoe store, then he went to What Cheer, Ia., where he managed a shoe store. He was born on Dec 26, 1860, in the province of Ulster, Ireland, the son of Thomas and Eliza Cherry. He came to Muscatine in 1882 and first worked at the Stewart Shoe store, then he went to What Cheer, Ia., where he managed a shoe store. Later he came to Muscatine and was with John Wilson here in the shoe business. Later he bought the Dawson shoe stock and went into business for himself. He retired 10 years ago. Mr. Cherry married Emma Fisch here on Dec. 26, 1895. He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal church. Surviving are the widow; one brother, Robert Cherry, Portland Ore.; two sisters, Mrs. Keenan, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mrs. Lizzie Allen, Vancouver, British Columbia; two nephews, Tom and Robert Wilson, Muscatine; two nieces, Mrs. Lee Richards, Muscatine and Mrs. Lee Ashcraft, of near Kansas City. Two children died in infancy. The body is at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral home, 216 West Third street, but will be returned to the residence later today. Funeral arrangements are indefinite.
