Description	:	Thomas W. Beall, aged 66 years, died at his home here last Saturday morning about 8:30 o'clock. Mr. Beall had been in failing health for nearly five years and was confined to his bed during the past four months. Apparently no worse Saturday morning, death came quietly. Beall, aged 66 years, died at his home here last Saturday morning about 8:30 o'clock. Mr. Beall had been in failing health for nearly five years and was confined to his bed during the past four months. Apparently no worse Saturday morning, death came quietly. Mr. Beall was a retired rural mail carrier. He was appointed as a rural mail carrier out of the Sigourney post Office in 1904, and continued in that work until his retirement in December 1941. He was a member of the Rural Letter Carriers' association and served as secretary and treasurer of the Keokuk County branch for a number of years. He was born on August 15, 1880 at Hayesville and was a son of Theodore and Sarah Beall. He was untied in marriage to Elma Fischer, and they became the parents of six children, three daughters and three sons. One daughter, Gladys, preceded him in death when she was 3 years old. When Mr. Beall was 19 years old, he became a member of the Bethel Christian church near Hayesville, later transferring his membership to the Sigourney Christian church. He was an enthusiastic worker in the church, serving on the board for many years and participating in musical activities. Surviving him are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Irvin Utterback of Sigourney and Alberta, at home; three sons, Gerald of Dayton, Ohio, Walter of Albion and Wayne of Sommers, and five grandchildren. Also living are two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Walters of Vancouver, Washington and Mrs. Mildred Martin of Sigourney and four brothers, Virgil of Des Moines, Corwin of Vancouver, Washington, Ross of Sigourney and Chester of Spencer. Preceding him in death besides his daughter were his parents, one sister and one grandson. The funeral service was held Monday afternoon at the Christian church conducted by his former pastor, the Rev. L. G. Potter of Waterloo. Both Sigourney banks closed during the service and there was a large attendance. Serving as pallbearers were C. C. Williamson, J. Y. Parkhill, Sam Morrow, Calvert Millikin of Hedrick, Sam Flanegan and Harley Stroud, representing members of his church and of the Rural Letter Carriers' association, and patrons of his mail route.
