Description	:	Thresia Tunink was born December 19, 1916 in Elgin, Nebraska, the daughter of William and Catherine (Overmohle) Tunink. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface Church in Elgin. Thresia did house work and helped with children for many years. She then worked at the Indian Missions in Marty, South Dakota for several years. In 1940, she moved to Early, Iowa to keep house for her uncle, Henry Overmohle. She looked forward to the fishing trips to Minnesota that she and Henry took every fall. Read More	Thresia Tunink was born December 19, 1916 in Elgin, Nebraska, the daughter of William and Catherine (Overmohle) Tunink. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface Church in Elgin. Thresia did house work and helped with children for many years. She then worked at the Indian Missions in Marty, South Dakota for several years. In 1940, she moved to Early, Iowa to keep house for her uncle, Henry Overmohle. She looked forward to the fishing trips to Minnesota that she and Henry took every fall. Everyone looked forward to her 4th of July picnics with fried spring chicken, fresh strawberries, and homemade ice cream. After Henry’s death, she was a hot lunch cook at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Early. She retired from there to give full-time attention to her greenhouse that started as a hobby, but expanded into a thriving business. Thresia moved to the Villa in Storm Lake, where she continued her love of sewing and quilting. She quilted many beautiful quilts for friends and relatives. She entered Methodist Manor Retirement Community in 2011. Thresia was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early, where she served on the Sacred Heart Guild. Once she moved to Storm Lake, she became a member of the St. Mary’s Parish. Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Jerry Tunink of Neleigh, Nebraska; sisters, Loretta Zegers of Petersburg, Nebraska, and Mary Ann Kloewer of Fremont, Nebraska; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Thresia was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Father Wilfred, OSB and Tony Tunink; and sisters, Philomena Wilwerding, and Betty Wolff.
