Description	:	Thrine was born in Norway. Her father was Hans Johannesson Seglem. Later in America, Hans adopted Johnson for his family name. Her mother was Thrine Jonsdatter Myklebust. Thrine's older three siblings, Margrethe, Anna and Johannes (Johann) emigrated to the United States in 1850. Thrine emigrated in 1852 with her parents and younger siblings. Thrine emigrated in 1852 with her parents and younger siblings. The family left Bergen, Norway aboard the brig Bjørgvin on May 26 and arrived at New York City on July 16, 1852. The family name on arrival was recorded as Muckelbust. Also leaving from Bergen on May 26, the schooner Ariel carried a young man, Johannes Johannesen from Upper Dosland. In Cook County Illinois, Thrine Hansen Myklebust married the Dosland man who adopted his American name, John D. Johnson. John D. Johnson scouted for land and chose land in Olive Township, Clinton County, Iowa, near the village of Calamus. In 1853 John D. Johnson's parents and five siblings emmigrated to Iowa. Thrine and John D. were the parents of John Paul Johnson who married Olivia Olson, Thrine Christine who married John O. Hougen, Hans Johnson who married Lona P. Anderson, George (Gjert), and Aaron who married Ellen Anderson. In 1872 Cornelius Halvorson arranged for his young orphaned niece, Anne Louise Halvorson, to with live with Thrine and her family. Anne Louise and Thrine Christine became like sisters.
