Description	:	Thurley V. Moen, 92, died March 30, 2005, at Valley General Hosital in Monroe following a brief illness. Thurley was born Sept. 5, 1912, in Thorp to John W. and Millie A. (Cochran) Wright. As a young girl, she drew up in Thorp, Leavenworth and the Peoh Point area of Upper Kittitas County. She married Marcus "Alan" Moen in 1930 and they operated a farm and dairy in the Reecer Creek area, across from the Reecer Creek School House. Moen, 92, died March 30, 2005, at Valley General Hosital in Monroe following a brief illness. Thurley was born Sept. 5, 1912, in Thorp to John W. and Millie A. (Cochran) Wright. As a young girl, she drew up in Thorp, Leavenworth and the Peoh Point area of Upper Kittitas County. She married Marcus "Alan" Moen in 1930 and they operated a farm and dairy in the Reecer Creek area, across from the Reecer Creek School House. In 1950 they moved east of Kittitas where they farmed until 1978. Thurley was a housewife, school bus driver, telephone operator, worked in retail sales at Sprouse-Reitz and the local canneries, besides helping farm and milk cows. She also owned and operated a pet store in Ellensburg. After her husband Alan died, she traveled the West extensively with her sister, Rita, until settling in the desert outside of Phoenix, Ariz. After several years she moved to Kalispell, Mont. to be near her daughter, Linda. In 2003 she moved back to Washington to be with family. She lived in Waterville at the time of her death. Thurley is survived by her daughter, Linda of Columbia Falls, Mon.; son, John (Joyce) of Waterville; grandsons, Christoper (Aaron) Moen of Ellensburg, Brett (Dollie) Watson of Florida, Chad (Frances) Moen of Cle Elum, Mathew (Amber) Eaton of Montana, and Brandon (Francesca) Moen of Monroe; and granddaughters Amanda Moen of Rosly, and Christine (Rob) Schmaling of Long Island, N.Y.; and four great-grandchildren: Colby, Jace, Jack and Joey. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rita; brothers, Harold, Wesley and Oren; and son-in-law Tom Eaton.
