He was the son of the late James Monroe Myers and the late Jessie Belle Myers-Myers. He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church. He was retired from J. F. Cleckley. He was the widower of the late Carolyn H. Myers and was preceded in death by four brothers: Monroe Myers, Albert “Red” Myers, M. C. Myers and Smith “Buck” Myers and one sister: Clara Myers. Survivors include two sisters: Annie Mae Bessinger of Cope and Jennie Sue Feller of Jacksonville, FL; two step sons: David and Barbara Bonnett of Neeses and John and Shirley Wolfe of Cope; step-daughter: Kim and Bucky Meyer of Santee; a number of step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the residence of his sister: Annie Mae Bessinger, 161 Yesterday's Lane, Cope and at the funeral home. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 PM on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
