Description	:	Mrs. Bert Bruinsma passed away very suddenly on Monday morning, June 10, 1946 at the age of 73 years. She suffered a stroke on Thursday morning from which she failed to rally. Mrs Bruinsma born Tgerke De Groot was born at Arum Frieslan to Dirk Ruurds de Groot and jeltje Harmens Molenaar and came to this country at the age nineteen years. On October 10, 1894 she was united in marriage to Mr Bote Bruinsma who now survives with the following children- Joe of Denver, Colo., Dick of. Esteline, SD, Elsie, (Mrs. Ed G. Mouw) of Sioux Center, Lane of Sioux Center, Lena (Mrs Gerrit Van Putten), Sam, Albertus and Reynold all of Sioux Center. She is also survived by a sister and two brothers, Mrs. Lena Motenaar, Hannes De Groot of Maurice and Reurt De Groot of Sioux Center. She was preceded in death by a son who passed away on July 7, 1906 at the age of ten years. Mr and Mrs. Bruinsma made home on a farm for forty-eight years and retired from farming three years ago at which time they moved into town. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Oct. 10, 1944. Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock at home and at one-thirty o'clock at First Reformed Church, Rev. L.A. Brunsting officiated. Burial took place at the local cemetery. Mrs. Bruinsma was a member the Senior Ladies Aid Society of First Reformed Church and the members of this society attended the services in a body. Sioux Center News, 13 Jun 1946
