Read More	In Memory of Tilfred Rudolf Rierson, age 93, of Aplington, Iowa, left this world and entered into the presence of the Lord on March 24, 2019, at Maple Manor Village, Aplington. Tilfred was born in rural Brooten, Minnesota on August 4, 1925, to Gilbert and Bertha (Halvorson) Rierson. Tilfred received his education in country schools. He served in the U.S. Army from November of 1944 to July of 1946 in World War II during the European Theatre. Tilfred was proud to participate in the Honor Flight program with his brother Harris. On August 16, 1955, Tilfred accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour while reading John 3:36, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life…” It was a gift from God. Tilfred was thankful for God’s goodness throughout his life, displaying kindness and patience to those around him. Tilfred married Norma Uhlenhopp on October 8, 1960, at her parents’ home in Aplington. They lived in Cedar Falls for many years where Tilfred worked as an electrician for Stickfort Electric. They moved to Aplington in 1995 after Tilfred retired. Tilfred enjoyed his family very much. He was a devoted husband and took great interest in the lives of his nieces and nephews. Tilfred, along with his wife Norma, was in fellowship at the Hitesville Gospel Hall. Tilfred is lovingly remembered by his wife, Norma; brother-in-law, Lyle (Dotta) Uhlenhopp; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Norma’s parents, Goerge and Rena Uhlenhopp; four sisters, Mrytle Alsaker, Georgine Cummins, Gladys Miltz and Cora Johnson; one brother, Harris Rierson; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral Services will be 2:30 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2019, at the Hitesville Gospel Hall, with burial in the Hitesville Cemetery, both rural Aplington, Iowa. With Full Military Rites conducted by the Aplington AMVETS, post #102. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hitesville Gospel Hall, rural Aplington, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family. Redman-Schwartz Funeral Chapel in Aplington is in charge of arrangements.
