He was born May 13, 1917 in rural Wray Colorado to Leo and Nora (Burns) Devlin and graduated from Wray High School in 1935. For over 40 years Tim worked for the U.S. Postal Service carrying mail in York and the surrounding rural areas and was formerly the Postmaster at Wray for five years. Devlin age 94 of York, NE died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at York. He was born May 13, 1917 in rural Wray Colorado to Leo and Nora (Burns) Devlin and graduated from Wray High School in 1935. For over 40 years Tim worked for the U.S. Postal Service carrying mail in York and the surrounding rural areas and was formerly the Postmaster at Wray for five years. He also worked at Ken Kunze Real Estate after his postal career for many years. A World War II veteran he was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in York, was a 3rd and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus where he was Financial Secretary of over 32 years. He was also a member of the York American Legion Post, past Commander of the Wray American Legion, the V.F.W., St Joseph's Men's Club, the Rural Letter Carrier's Association and was active in the local and state level of the Boy Scouts of America Troup #174. On December 1, 1945 he was married to Marie Hain at David City, NE. He is survived by his wife Marie of York, one son Terrence and his wife Susan Devlin of Omaha, NE, two daughters; Mary Beth and her husband Ken Kunze of York and Barbara and her husband Robert Berry of Omaha, NE. Ten Grandchildren Eleven Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters; Mabelle Meadows and Marie Jennings both of Denver, CO., and Alice Anne and her husband Willard Pilkington of Longmont, CO. A brother in law Bill DeLisle of Longmont, CO. Many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers in law. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, June 23, 2011 at St Joseph's Catholic Church in York with the Reverend Monsignor James Reinert and the Reverend Monsignor Raymond Hain officiating. A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday at the mortuary after which his family will greet friends until 8:30 p.m. also at the mortuary. Burial will be in St Joseph's Cemetery east of York with memorials being directed to St. Joseph's Catholic Church or to the school. Visitation begins after 5:00 p.m., Tuesday.
