Published in the Piscataquis (ME) Observer 8 Sep 1859 p3: "DIED---In Foxcroft, Sept. 7th, of Consumption, Timothy H. Chamberlain, Esq., aged 48 years." Published in the Piscataquis (ME) Observer 15 Sep 1859 p3: "OBITUARY---We last week merely mentioned the demise of Timothy H. Chamberlain, Esq., of Foxcroft who died on the 7th in that town, aged 48 years. We had no time then to say any thing of the character of the deceased. Mr. Chamberlain was respected and beloved by all who had the pleasure of an acquaintance with him. He was truly prudent and temperate in all his habits. For honesty of principle, for purity of mind and motive, and for strict integrity and justice, he was surpassed by no one. His habitual uprightness, honesty and ability secured that respect and confidence of his townsmen and fellow citizens, which raised him to the highest honors within their gift. He had been several times elected a representative to the Legislature, and filled the most important offices in town, with honor to himself, and with credit and usefulness to his constituents. As a husband he was kind and indulgent. Thus, after a long and lingering illness, which he bore with christian patience and resignation, he has passed from earth to a brighter and better world above, where there is no sorrow or weeping."
