Description	:	Tommie Frank Boska, son of Thomas and Anna Scheinost-Hambek-Boska was born June 4, 1924 at Spencer, Nebraska. Tommie died Saturday, August 3, 2013, at the Butte Health Care Center in Butte, Nebraska. Tommie attended District #61 and District #52 country schools through the 8th grade in the Spencer, Nebraska area. He worked at home farming with his dad and also helped different relatives and neighbors until he enlisted in the US Army in April 1945. Read More	Tommie Frank Boska, son of Thomas and Anna Scheinost-Hambek-Boska was born June 4, 1924 at Spencer, Nebraska. Tommie died Saturday, August 3, 2013, at the Butte Health Care Center in Butte, Nebraska. Tommie attended District #61 and District #52 country schools through the 8th grade in the Spencer, Nebraska area. He worked at home farming with his dad and also helped different relatives and neighbors until he enlisted in the US Army in April 1945. Tommie was a Staff Sergeant serving with the 206th Port Company in Inchon, Korea, and was discharged in December 1946. He was a member of American Legion Post #78, Spencer, Nebraska. Tommie married Deloris Black on April 9, 1951 in O'Neill, Nebraska. Four children were born to this union: Janice, Garron (Gary), Larry, and Dennis (Sam). Tommie worked for Consumers Public Power at the Spencer (NE.) Dam until 1960 when he took a job with the Corps of Engineers. Tommie moved his family to Riverdale, North Dakota where he was an operator at Garrison Dam. He did this for a year and a half before being transferred to Pierre, South Dakota to be an operator at the new Oahe Dam that had been built. Tommie was one who threw the switch to put the Dam into operation. He worked for the Corps of Engineers for another year and half before longing for the "Good Life" of Nebraska. Tommie packed up the family and moved them back to Spencer, Nebraska where he took a job with Spencer (NE.) Livestock. After several years of trucking he decided to try his luck at farming. Life was good until the "trucking bug" got a hold of him. He bought a straight truck and for several years hauled livestock and supplies for farmers around the area. After selling his truck, Tommie drove for Scheinost Trucking, Bowers Grain and Spencer Livestock. After retiring from trucking, he took a job maintaining the country roads of District #7 in Boyd County, Nebraska. His passion was maintaining and pushing snow off his roads and keeping them in good driving condition for everyone. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. The best job he ever had was the one where he got to color pictures, put puzzles together, play games, read books, share candy, and rock in his rocking chair with his Great-Granddaughter, Addison "Snookie" Birmeier. Tommie is survived by: children Janice (Vincent) Birmeier, Garron (Rolenda) Boska and Larry (Donita) Boska, all of Spencer, Nebraska and Dennis (Diane) Boska of St. Charles, South Dakota; grandchildren, Tracy Birmeier of Spencer, Nebraska, Joe Birmeier and Jason Boska, both of Kearney, Nebraska, Tia (Jon) Schwaderer of Lincoln, Nebraska, Cory (Amy) Bailey of Bonesteel, South Dakota, J.R. Baer of Marion, South Dakota and Justin (Samantha) Baer of Murrieta, California; great-grandchildren, Addison Birmeier, Hadlee Schwaderer, Adrien Baer, Phoenix Hill, Cade Bailey, Cooper Bailey, Noah Baer, and Gavin Baer; sister, Irene Stringfellow of Spencer, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Libby Hambek, Betty Boska, Phyllis Black and Nancy Black and a host of family and friends. Tommie is preceded in death by: wife, Deloris Boska in 1993; parents, Thomas and Anna Boska; parents-in-law, Garron and Leona Black; grandson, Thomas Birmeier; brothers, Bill Hambek and Ramon Boska; sisters, Mille Long, Ethel Soukup, Helen Krupicka, and Goldie Olin; brothers-in-law, Jay Long, Stu Stringfellow, Adolph Soukup, Otto Krupicka, Mandus Olin, Wayne Black, Richard Black, and Connie Sattler; and a sister-in-law, Opal Sattler.
